The Beverage Company was formed following the merger of Little Green Beverages and SoftBev in 2018. The company enjoys a rich, South African heritage.

Little Green Beverages was acquired by Ethos Private Equity in 2017, in partnership with Nedbank Private Equity and Management and renamed The Beverage Company as shareholders acquired Softbev from JSE-listed Bowler Metcalf in 2018.

Little Green Beverages

Little Green Beverages was founded in 2006 when the founding shareholders purchased a bottling plant located in Robertville, Western Johannesburg.

After acquiring the necessary skills, resources and supplementary equipment, the founders brought the plant online and began producing a limited range of carbonated soft drinks in early 2006. The much loved Refreshhh brand was born and the rest is history.

With over 50 years of combined industry experience, Softbev was an innovative company formed between two well-established firms, Quality Beverages and Shoreline Beverages.

The business was built on quality, excellence, independence and diversity, together with the principles of excellence in production, marketing and distribution. Softbev was the producer of South Africa’s much loved Coo-ee and Jive brands, plus Pepsico franchise brands: 7UP, Capri-Sun, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Pepsi and Pepsi Max.
